hey dafobbishon3,

have you try to adjust the tweeter settings on you passive xover yet?

you passive has swiitch on it that can help.

here's a link to hertz, take a look at it to see if this one is like yours.

I would bet the shop when try set you the adjustment on the passive xover that they probably set it to +2 which can make your tweeter seem to bright or and have them set to high.

If you take off yr doors panel & find your xover, take the plastic top cover off of it, you will see a switch on the xover, try to change it to -2db & see if that helps

before lose any more sleep, try listening to a really good recorded CD, like the eagles, elton john,or go buy a well recorded jazz cd. i think the blue carpet cd from snoop dog is recorded really well.

what i'm trying to say is that a lot of rap music isn't recorded with best musical intent in mind.

if you keep stressing like that your'e have a stoke.

i WANTED to. i wanted to get to those crossovers. but idk how to yank out my fcuking door. hahahaha. so idk where they put it :[

i thought it was already on passive? cause i looked on the site, and if i remember. those comps were meant for passive. :\ but then again. idk.

wheres the link??

haha thanks alot man. maybe i'll loook into some phil collins too. gotta love phil :] haha

what does changing the +2 to -2 do on dB

is that like the dB knob/switch on the amp?

I think this xover came with your comp set

http://www.hertzaudiovideo.com/Doc/pdf_2W20.pdf

your car door is easy to remove, you should have a couple of long srews & clippons,

just find the srews & pull the panel off, just dont lose none of the clippons.

I'm sure the shop mounted the passive some place on the inner door.

yes your comps are passive,

yes phil collins is a good choice as well, do you have that CD???

passive & active are different set ups, with most passive xovers you'll have a adjustable swicth for the tweeter only, that switch help with balance of the car environment.

some people like the tweeter to sound really bright so they go up + db's & some people like there tweeters a little softer so they do 0 or - db, which help to balance everything out.

since you spent so much money for your toys you should learn how to use them, don't depend on someone to do it right for you.

give it a -db's or +db's

have you ever thought about going active???

all right. i'll try and find them. LOL i'll do it on a day i dont have class. which is on fridays.

no i dont have phil collins. i just youtube him. :] its easier and faster.

i see. well i'll try to mess around with the xover if i can find it. LOL reason i dont mess around, is if i dmg any of the equipment. then it'll go "plooooooop" down the drain.

i never got the difference of going either pass or act.

is it bad if i got act. on my passive set?

You must have a newer car thats made out of plastic then? Get some sound deadener, and try running your subs off a mono block rather than a 4ch. That cv amp should be on your mids.

He already has a sub amp. The CV amp is for his mids and highs.

But what really needs to happen is you need to so some serious work on your car before you put anymore audio into it. Sound deaden the trunk AND your entire floor. You will not regret it.

if your'e going to deaden your whole car you should measure your car to how much you'll need, you should go buy phil collins cd.

mp3 or wma formats dont have such as good as cd or records.

you cant bi-amp those passive xover, if you go active i think you should do a lot of reading about it first.

looki into secound skin fro deadener, i think it will be cheaper by the pack.

shit .i dont even have like 100 for a fcukin roll. i gotta find some money first. im trying to sell my old enclosure and some wires for the amp. but no one local has money either :[ poor azz texas. haha

are you going take some pics of your sub box.

when you get some money it maybe cheaper to by deadener for your doors.

i was wondering is your sub box braced down to anything?

if not try doing that to see if that helps with some of your rattling.
