Build time on SSA subs

good luck with that !!! holiday weekend , you'll be lucky to get something on Tuesday. I imagine all the excuses will start once they see this thread. Your 23rd on the build list. Yeah right

lol id hope not, moving someones order back just because theyre noticing the massive failures is seriously a bad idea
i didnt realize the problem was this bad, 3 + people who have had the same issues. my team aa came in 3 weeks...

wait what, one came in a wood crate and one came like that? my team aa came in a crate thats the stupidest thing ive ever heard of. shipping the SAME sub two different ways?? for the same customer?? do they think you're stupid or dont care
You must have gotten lucky during a time when business was slow.... or some guy canceled his order from waiting too long and you got the already made one.

Update on my buddy, apparently dan shipped out a pallet of subs that werent even supposed to be shipped out yet and they still didnt ship my buddy's evil 15s out.

No. I mean I'll never order from them. Stuff I'm hearing is enough for me to steer clear.
anything else you order from SSA is fine, you get it within a week aka amps, mids, tweeters misc stuff.... Its not SSA thats the issue its FI.

I gotcha.
Seems they got bigger than they can handle. Either a new build house or stop taking orders. I see on the website now a lot of the subwoofers aren't available till July. And then they have to build them which could lead to October
We never got bigger than we could handle, orders have leveled off since the holidays. It is the build house who is down a main builder and is doing everything they can to catch up. They were forced to shut down all OEM production until caught up. Meaning no new SSA subs can be ordered until the existing build tickets are shipped out.
Well this is a bit discouraging. I ordered a D1 icon 12 on April 22nd. And a D1 recone on the april 28th.

Order number
19773
19874. And it kind of rough estimate on shipping time
Yours will ship, and as they get closer to shipping we can have a better idea as to when.
they said 21 days. Then its the "next week we'll have it" run around. You'd think these fkers would have parts on hand... not take people's money then order the top/bottom plates and have it shipped by boat from china and get delayed with customs etc and have the customers suffer that wait.
The build house has the parts on hand, it is the major loss of man power to keep up right now. Not waiting for stuff shipping from china.
Yes, it came out of the box like that. I bought an xcon 12 last year and it came with a nice wood crate inside the box. Not this one. Emailed ssa twice this week and got no response, if that's called great customer service than I guess I've been running my business wrong for the last 30 years !
That was a build house mistake, and I have apologized for that flub on their end. Xcon's are normally crated and the build house was made aware of this mistake. I have responded to all emails (unless Josh had already spoke to the customer on the phone)
any thoughts on this ordeal @denim or are you staying low until **** gets figured out
Never, I have never done that. That is what shady companies with daddies money do and then pretend it didn't happen. I have been working my *** off doing my best to keep everyone happy, 7 days a week. Just found out there was a holiday yesterday.
Aaron is who I've been talking to through email. Every time I ask where my speaker is I get the same answer. "They are working on it as fast as possible and I put a rush on it" Well today is exactly 9 weeks and all I got is half of what I paid for. They should not charge in advance for something they can't produce in a timely manner.
We provide all the information we can as soon as we can.
This whole thread is not good for business. Emailed again today and got no response. I'm tempted to call my credit card company but really been trying to put that off. I could've bought anything else and had them in a few days. They probably took off for the weekend. Not sure how they run business but a month ago Aaron said his partner went to a show for the week and took the phone. That's why they didn't answer. How can you run a business that big off 1 cell phone
As I said above and to you earlier, I didn't respond to the email as Josh had just spoke to you on the phone and it was no point in sending you the same information moments later.
SSA needs one h3ll of a reply to turn this thread around.
Regardless I'm still going to order an Evil when it becomes available but I'm sure everyone would like some type of response.
I always reply, that is never an issue. I have explained quite a number of times as I am constantly cranking away to keep people as informed as possible as fast as possible.
For sure. I'd just like my subwoofer already without all the excuses.I was told on Wednesday by Josh that it was shipping Friday yet I still never got a notification or tracking #.
Yes, as I explained, that is the information Josh was given by the build house and we do apologize that it did not make it out on Friday per what they told us.
It would be nice to get some kind of order status. I'd really like to move on with my build..
Everyone is getting updated the moment their order is on the UPS truck.

Never once have we made excuses. I worked through the holiday weekend, replying to as many emails and message and questions and PM's as I could. I am watching all build tickets like a possessed person, making sure everyone is updated absolutely as fast as possible.

Before any misconceptions are made, we have never once lied to a customer or fed them BS. We are updating everyone the moment there is an update or if their order ships. Everything that is already in the build queue will be shipping, and new orders will be able to be made once the build queue is caught up to the demand. Adapting to the situation best we can by not having any new orders come in so the queue can be caught up AND moving somethings elsewhere.

This all comes down to one simple fact: (1) Built in the USA with all the steel machining that goes into these subs and USA copper and steel etc.. (2) Priced affordable compared to mass produced competition. (3) Get it fast. You get to pick two. [Meaning the good, fast, and cheap pick two adage]

So that being said, the market clearly doesn't allow us to raise prices to help afford to help have more people building at the build house. While at the same time, material costs continue to rise while our pricing stays steady and in some cases went lower. We (SSA) have long since begun the process to have more items built ahead of time and ready to ship same or next day. Due to those factors, it is a slow and very expensive process. We don't have some massive Scrooge McDuck vault to play with because of what I just explained, in addition, we are not like many others that just slap a logo on a OEM catalog and call it good then claim some expansive engineering process occurred.

Cliffs: We feel horrible about the delay at the build house and it is not being taken with a grain of salt, I have been working my *** off to keep everyone I can updated as fast as possible around the clock, 7 days a week. As well as, we are moving things to correct this issue in the future.

That's good to hear. Because I plan on going back to SSA's subs when redo my substage. Never had a sub I liked as much as my Icon, time to go back.

Great choice on the Icon. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

This really doesn't tell me anything. Is that a week or a month from now? Order # is 19812.
You are currently at #28 in the build queue. According to the build house, loads in front of yours are supposed to ship now. As yours is closer to the top, it will be easier to know how soon.

I've dealt with everyone on this forum ( apart from you ) at one time or another.. ssa has been the most professional and best i've dealt with of any audio company both directly msging them in some form or contacting via email. Still plan to pick up an evil again one day.. one of the few beasts I never touched.

Can I ask who is building the Gcon? Is it still getting machined in house?
I am working on prototypes from two different build houses for a Gcon replacement. It won't be called a Gcon anymore, and it can no longer be made here in the USA. We were clearing basically nothing on the current Dcon and Gcon after free shipping and fees.
