I was not really planning on trying to want/find beefed up suspension for the rear and so when I seen that birch ply would work I decided that even if it was just ply would be better then a 15 cu foot box (gross) made out of mdf (weight wise).Different woods will have different sounding boxes that must street car won't notice. I prefer to use all birch. Looks better and sounds better.
Sounds better? I'd like to see proof backing that up.Different woods will have different sounding boxes that must street car won't notice. I prefer to use all birch. Looks better and sounds better.
I have experienced it first hand. I think a lot of it has to do with the density of the wood where mdf to me sounds more solid and plywood has a more hollow sound. What I do not know is if the difference is enough to effect the sounds in car audio, home audio is a lot different in some ways.Sounds better? I'd like to see proof backing that up.I've used both..no difference in sound..not sure how you're coming to that conclusion.
The influence of wood density on longitudinal wave velocity determined by the ultrasound method in comparison to the resonance longitudinal method - SpringerSounds better? I'd like to see proof backing that up.I've used both..no difference in sound..not sure how you're coming to that conclusion.
