Build Me a System

I cannot make up my mind. I thought I knew what I wanted but the more I thought about it, the more I kept second guessing myself. So with that said, I am going to turn it over to you guys.

I am trying to keep the price under $900 but if need be I can go a little over. I need to buy subs, an amp, and a Headunit. I know for sure that I want to go with 15" subs( leaning more towards two). I want a good mix of SPL and SQ. The subs will be going in a sealed enclosure until I see how well I like the system and what it is lacking. I will be installing everything. I want the system to be loud, but at the same time I want it clean and crisp.

Well let's see....

Subs - Dual Tempests - $300ish

Amp - JBL 1200.1 (careful with the gain) -$230ish

There's many HUs out there that would work for you, it all depends on what kind of features, looks, etc. you're looking for. Brands to check out would be Clarion, Pioneer Premier, Alpine, and Eclipse. I'm sure some other people on here could recommend a HU to you.

The subs I was going to buy would be two 15" Resonant Engineering SEs but would the Tempest be better. What else would be comparable to the SEs?

Well, if you talk to one of the Adire dealers they may save you a few bucks. I paid $280 for mine. Just thought of another good amp...the MTX 801D would be more suitable for Tempests.

Are Kenwood headunits any good?

will always vote for Pioneer premier's HU over Kenwood's

the DEH-P7000's series, will be good, and wont exceed $300 off the dealer,

n will find cheaper on the internet.

So what about the subwoofer and amp issue? Are the SEs better than Tempest? What else is out there that is comparable to these subs?

Tempests are similar to W3v2s, except more output and slightly better SQ IMO. I'm not sure about the SEs, I've never heard them.
