Build Log: XXX Install and More...

Got it on finally. Ended up drilling and taping the fender bolts to 3/8" which turned out great. I used the cap head style allen bolts on those, then drilled out the hood side of the hinges to 5/16" and used a nut/carriage bolt combo. It actually turned out really good and its definitely an improvement over stock.

Still needs some fine tuning. The fender gaps are really close, it just needs a slight shift in the drivers side hinge to make it perfect. I need to do some sanding to the backside of the hood near the window for some more clearance at the wiper cowl. Its also sitting high at the corners from the factory hood posts. I gutted out the secondary part of the latch since it was too wide to work, so Im definitely going to order some hood pins.

Yeah, you definitely can see the gap, but overall looks good! What color are you going to paint the car again?
The fender gaps are really close, its just sitting a little high at the front because the factory hood posts are too tall. Im prolly going to order a set of hood pins for it today, I dont feel too comfortable driving around with just the main latch and no safety latch to catch it if it pops loose.

Cars getting the same color paint thats on it for now. I just need about another quart of it and some clear and I can get rollin. I was going to go black, but I dont have the time to gut the car like I would have to if I was to do a color change.

Whelp, really havent been coming over to this forum much anymore, but I might as well make one last post in this build log.

Heres where I left off today.

Got some updated pictures of where the front end is at right now. I decided to paint the mesh part of the grill black so it blends in a little better and isnt so flashy. It needed something and I couldnt put my finger on it, I think this did the trick though.

Waiting on some more parts to show up then hopefully this project will get rollin.

looks nice man.
are you going to paint it black?? would be sick blacked out
That is the plan right now. Im looking into getting a set of grand marquis diamond clear headlights and blacking out the inner bezels of them. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
