Build Log: XXX Install and More...

wowz, i haven't overlooked your build in a while. very nice glass work and the outcome of your door panels are nice. i skimmed through a few pages and didn't see any other new box design other than the one you posted with the kerfed port. though i just noticed you will be running an aero port now.

can't wait to see how you start working on the box.

Well the port came in a while ago, I dont know where my cam is atm. But hopefully I can get started on the box pretty soon.

I dunno, Im busy with school shit the next week and Ive got to take care of some stuff for some other people. Hopefully next weekend I can get the box together and maybe get the trunk finished up...who knows. But for now thats my goal, then the following weekend tackle the alarm

Bah!

Not going to get anything done on this for another week if Im lucky. Spent too much money and have to wait till I get paid next week.....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I planned on finishing the rocker panels on this **** thing over this weekend but its fvcking snowing....

Alarm install next weekend for sure thanks to THUNDERBIRD

Oh yeah I dont think I mentioned it in this thread or not.

Plan so far for the front stage is to go 3-way active, then Im going to try and run the sub off a line-out converter and use the low-pass on the sub amp.

For now I think Im gonna try and stuff two amps in my spare tire well so I can hide them. Then Im only going to show off two of them..the kx 2500 and kx 450.2. Ill probably pull the two in the spare tire well down the line and use a 4-channel.

KX 250.2 for the tweets

HiFonics Nemesis ~100x2 for the mid-range for now

KX 450.2 for the mid-bass

KX 2500.1 for the sub

So far running the 2-way active setup I have right now with just one set of mids is awesome. Ive gotten it to sound pretty darn good and Im really happy with it. Its insanely balanced and clear. The mid-bass is **** good even with just the one set running and crossed at 80hz @ 24db....

Im thinking the mid-bass will run 50hz @ 12db up to somewhere in the neighborhood of ~400hz. Ill have to play around with the mid-range by itself and see what they will like. When I swap in a 4-channel Im also going to run a smaller driver for the mid-range. Im going to keep the grill though because it looks tits.

Could definitely use some recommendations on a nice set of mid-ranges to swap in that will like ~100-125wrms.

I just got a crazzzzy idea....

Since Ill probably pull the mids Im using right now in exchange for a smaller mid-range. I might be able to get away with glassing in another set of rings behind the other ones and still run two mid-bass drivers....that would be sweet.

I still need to think about it more though. No matter what Im going to have to glass a pocket around the mid-range to seal it off from the mid-bass. Might as well just toss another set of rings in though...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

edit- This is looking like the way to go http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=295-372

First Ive come across for a mid-range. I need something aesthetically pleasing as well which is going to make it rather difficult I think.

So yeah, for now Im just leaving the doors how I have them. Running the front (angled) mids as the mid-range, the others will be mid-bass.

Alarm is going in this weekend and hopefully saturday I can paint this bumper Im finishing and get some room in the garage. Who know, maybe vinyl the dps. Box will be coming soon, I promise.

i just looked at a few pages in your thread.. i think i saw some of the early stages back when you started...

the doors look great.. how is the fleece holding up?

youve got some nice equipment going in, and youre doing a good job installing everything too.. thats good to see. keep up the good work.

Thanks^

So far everything is holding up great! When I pull the door panels off for vinyl Im thinking about laying down some glass and chop mat and maybe some duraglass and evercoat. I want to really finish them and make them as solid as possible since I plan on keeping them for a while.

I think Im finally settled on what I want to do for now as well. Any other things I might swap out on the front stage down the line could fairly easily be incorporated in.

Mikey haven't checked out your build in a while bro deff look's good man. man we deff gotta have a michigan meet after this bs winter weather. my build real close to almost start:D.
