Build Log: XXX Install and More...

hey mikey u should use some clear coat across those amp make em shine even more;).
Look at the original pics after I sprayed them.

They are cleared, BIG TIME!!!!

I wet-sanded the clear, which puts lots of small scratches in, but smooths it out more, then the rubbing compound and polish takes the scratches out.

I got most of them out, but like I said, I dont have the materials to finish them so Im leavin them for now.

Once I get a bonet for my wheel Ill hit them real good and make them really SHINE!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I see it now man looks real nice man. so what did your old BTL setup do at the comp in taylor man. i did a 144.8 at 44hz not bad for my first time ever competing;)
Bah, I never made it out there that Saturday. I came out Sunday for the car show but I missed the comp. Not a bad score though, the BTL was right around there sealed up, but it peaked at 33hz lol.

I metered it a while back at themommyvan's, the highest I hit was a 148.6 down at 33hz with a window cracked. Was gonna up the tuning and double the power and try for a 50 sealed up, but I got sick of all the SPL so here we go //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

thX mikey , once i get my girl's setup done and i actually have funds in order and a job that doesn't **** and is giving me more then 5hrs a week:(. i plan on starting my rebuild.

Bah!!! Something with my car is ****ed. I think my torque converter is about to blow apart. Ive been worried about ****** issues since these cars are notorious for the 4R70's failing, just like my last one, so I was hoping to get the kit in it before anything major happened.

Anyways, missed school and work today in fear of breaking down on the freeway. Running the car down to the shop here shortly.

Ive got someone with a 2001 4R70W with under 40k on it ready to drop it in. Talking with the shop I got the previous kit from to exchange it for one for the new ******.

Will update that situation at a later date.

But, I finally got the courage to finish up the exhaust. The clamp that bolts the front and back halfs together was falling apart, so I picked up some parts and repaired it.

Nothing crazy, but I got some pics.

Also fixed some wiring under the hood on the (+) side. Had a terminal pull out one day a while back and I never was able to fix it properly.

Also found another fat *** rust hole in the passenger side rocker. Im gonna stop and pick up some supplies in the next couple days and hopefully I can finish the rockers completely this weekend. At least thats my plan anway.

^^^ Thanks guys! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Well, got back a little while ago from the shop. Plugged into it and found all sorts of crap going on.

I had a sensor come loose at the intake manifold, and I had a bad front o2 which was messing everything up.

Ended up dropping the front of the exhaust again and putting in a pair of front o2's. Runs much better now and I dont have nearly the problem I was having.

****** still has a hint of shutter, but I mean a hint. Its probably my mind playing tricks on me to be honest.

Anyways, Im getting a new seperator plate drilled and a gasket for the newer *****. Hopefully in a few weeks Ill be able to get that sucker in!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Recone turned out beautifully, aside from the fact that glue ran down the inside of the former when I glued on the inner dust cap.

Hoping I can get it out and salvage it, but Im not too sure yet.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Hoping to resolve the glue issue with some beating on it, but if all else fails, Ill pull the dust cap off and see whats going on inside.....
