Build Log: XXX Install and More...

hey on them picks or your engine i noticed that you had a round air filter .I'd take and build a box around it then make about a 3 in hole in the bottom so you could get lots of cold air to your engine would love it .
Thanks man^ //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Yeah its got just a regular conical filter on now, but if you notice in the pic its actually got a small heat shield on the side by the motor. Im pretty sure its just a standard K&N kit on there now.

Once I pick up a new MAF sensor Ill extend the intake down a little further, and there is actually a big hole under it right now, that I will go through with a bend, and put the filter on the other side, behind the bumper.

Just waiting to get my shift kit in, pick up a new MAF, and they get the 4-bank chip I have burned with a couple tunes. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

****nnn still aint got that truck done ha? Did the paint bled well, or did ya tape it off? Thought you were using that undercoating stuff too
lol no the trucks done now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I ended up working through the night that past weekend when you came by. Spent the entire day that saturday preppin the truck for paint, got it mostly done and ready to go by about 11:00 that night. Was hoping to have it done by 1:00. Sprayed the undercoat, looked awesome and should have just left it like that. But then I proceeded to try and spray my base over the undercoat.

Since I was on a tight schedule, and trying to get the truck out the next day, I sprayed base after the undercoat tacked up. Ended up turning into a mess, I was having issues with adhesion due to the undercoat.

Thank god one of my buddies was willing to work with me.

I painted the bottom of that thing twice that night. After the second encounter, we went inside for a break. Lasted from about 2:30am to about 3:00am. Then I get up and go back out there, we sanded on that mother ****er for hours. Didnt stop till around 6 in the morning and came inside.

Next day, I give it back, unfinished, due to the issues I had and just a ridiculous deadline. I'll never put myself in that situation again. It was just way too much work to do in a 2-3 day period. I needed a week, or 5 mesicans to come help out.

I gave it back to him with the jams all done, looking great I might add, and with the rockers done, but the lower doors and fenders still had issues and I had to blend all of that.

Got it back the following weekend, spent a few more hours of sanding and masking. Then finally I was able to come in and blend it all.

Turned out good, but it could use some work on the clear coat, would look awesome with some wet sanding and buffing. I wasnt about to spend anymore of my time to make it look pretty since I had so many hours in it and it was a simple budget repair from the get go, although it turned into a lot more than that.

All that matters though is.....the customers happy.....Im happy to be done with it.....and Im getting my moneyz for it.

I couldnt even tell you how many times I have tried to glue this mirror back on. I gave up on the original mirror after I broke the glass in it after it broke off the second time.

Now Ive glued this new one one about 4 times. The first mirror I used CA glue at first, failed, then some epoxy, failed, then with the new mirror I used an adhesive specifically for it, failed, did it again, failed, did it again, let it sit and fully cure for about a week, tonight, it failed. After this last time it just took a big chunk of the window with it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

So....I put a dab of the glass glue on, then goooobbbbeeeeddd it with CA and just slapped it up there. Stuck like a mother ****er as soon as I put it up, I think Ill be alright now, but Im keeping my fingers crossed.

Its just annoying as hell not having a rear view, I cant stand it.

Haha, not to mention I somehow broke the odometer and trip in the dash cluster.

Took me like a month to realize I wasnt clocking any mileage lol.

I dont know if the BTL had damaged something back there or what, my speedo works and everything, just no odometer or anything. I think its something in the dash behind the cluster. Ill have to pull it out one day and see, but, for the mean time Im not logging anymore miles on this bisch!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

Well my stupid ****ing mirror fell off again today.................//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif

I dont know what to do with it now, I think Im just gonna stop by the local glass shop and have them try and glue it on //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Yeah i cant figure out why auto makers started putting the dammed tings on the glass remember the older cars they weer either on the head liner or on the dash them never fell off .now the new ones fall off all the time and when they do its a pain in the *** to get them back up and have them stay. mine fell of like 2 years ago and i tried every thing like you did to get it back up their nothing worked then it fell and broke the mirror i was pissed i finally took it to a glass shop to fix it and then found out i couldn't find another mirror like i had it was the auto dimming ones now im stuck having to flip the little thing out it to get lights out of my eyes it sucks i miss my old one

nice log, and nice moofer... should look tits when completed...GL and don't ever weld without a visor on man, you should know better...Eyes are important things and have to last you a lifetime...
