Build Log- Infinity Kappa Perfect 10- 1.5@35hz *PICCSSS*

if anyone is curious, heres the saw i used to make the cuts. first time using it and i think it went pretty well. make most of the cuts like a hot knife on butter
Looks like you got the better model than mine...

The jackass who put mine together at the factor put the measurement stickers on in the wrong spots...

Oh, nice box.

Other things you can do that do not take much time are to flush mount the sub like in the first pic by adding a square baffle behind the sub cutout. Also you can get a router with a bit that will make all edges rounded which is nice and can also improve air flow a bit on the port.

Is that your project? Why didn't you flush the port too?

those are some things i will have to try. but i dont have a good router yet:crap:

Looks great, clean and simple, I like it.
You said you are happy with the output....anything you can compare it to? I have been eyeing the buy 1, get 1 sale...
thank you:D

umm its as loud if not louder then two 12" rockford p2's in a small sealed box and soulds far better. and its getting half the power they were. as show on this page, http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=182978&page=2, but of course that didnt last for long since that box i built really made them come alive. other then that there isnt a whole lot i can compare it to. i can tell you that the sq is great and in a small car they have the potential to very very loud for what they are and with little power. hoped that helped:)

Looks great! The only thing I would recommend would be to not put screws so close to the end of the wood. Even if you pre-drill, it's still very easy to split the wood that close to the edge.
yea i was kinda woried about that when i put the top peice on since it was cut weird. is that the only place you're talking about or do mean all of the screws?

thanks:)

Thanks for the input, sounds like a bada$s little sub //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

here is my idea for an amp rack for his car. i was thinking covering the platform in black vinyl leather or just carpet, and the post it rests on will be made out of a 2x4 or something similar with holes down the center for the wires and it will either be carpeted or painted black

Code:
. and then the box will sit on the empy space on the left side and will be covered in black carpet.. it may be hard to visualize but i think the final product should look very clean with very little wire showing and of course the whole thing will be bracketed to the car so it doesnt move. its not to scale, but let me know what you all think, i will probably be building it in a few hours

All the screws I can see are pretty close to the edge of the wood. I try to keep them about 4-5 inches away from the edge of the wood. Even with pre-drilling very deep, I was splitting the wood with 1.25" screws at about 2.5" away from the edge of the wood.
