Having trouble deciding :\ heres whats on my mind

2 SA8v2 on SAZ1500d

2 SA12"s on SAZ1500d

1 Zv415" on SAZ2500D

Woofer price is about the same across the board.. Only difference is amp price, id probably get a used 2500 or a new 1500 so thats about the same as well...

For a daily trunk pounder with an SQ aim, what would be the better option?

Thanks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

What really matters to me is not destroying my car but still having strong bass.

Assuming you have the space to build a proper box for each, the 12's in a ported down around 33Hz or so. Or, the 8's in a 4th order.
I basically have the entire trunk, it will aim into the car. (seats folded down). I owned a pair of SA12s before on a SAZ1500dv.1, but they had SPL coils so the SQ was iffy and the box was garbage... Even still, (it was in my old 95 Buick), it trashed that car.. The exhaust broke loose, door mirror fell of, and review mirror fell off //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif.. I really dont want that to happen to my new car

The reason that ish happened is mostly because it was older, lol..

if you want sq I'd go with the 8s, they'll still get low, though.

However if you wanna bang your titttts off get the zv4 once it comes out and call it a day

Anything is possible. I think you would have more in the design/build then it would be worth to be honest. Would be fun though and would surprise many people that it was only 8's.

And that's why I was suggesting that. You don't see that too often, plus no one would guess they are 8's. You could just do 2 8's ported low or 12's sealed, and if you are looking for a quick easy build then go that route. I think if you had 12's before and you thought it was too loud then you will have the same result if you go with 12's. Or, go with 12's or a 15 ported real low and simply turn the sub volume down? You have options, in the end it's up to you as to what you want and how much work you want to put in.

That's true... Still up in the air, thanks for your opinion on it though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I would be okay getting a 4th box made by DC, the problem I had with the 12s wasn't the volume honestly, it was that it broke everything //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif My front stage is so loud that I have it at -6db in my deck and its balanced with my sub stage (Single SA8v.2 on SAX1000D) But even then there are songs I know have bass that end up being to loud vocally, so I cant turn the volume high enough to get balanced sub output. Its not the 8s fault, an amped mid/high stage needs a lot of bass to be balanced....

I think a Z would wreck my car, but sound awesome... Id almost prefer it over a pair of SAs, but then again finding any video of an older Z on a 1500D ripping a sunroof off isn't encouraging for me.

You can turn down the sub stage to ensure it don't over power anything or damage the car.
I would think the Z would be a better option overall.
Personally would you do a single 15 or 18? I am hoping to have it aimed into the car from the trunk, thing is the opening from the trunk is roughly 14" high so the box will be back a bit, and im not sure the full height of the trunk.. So I guess single 15"..... The V.4 platform can take a 2500, but a 1500 would be a more mild option, and still work.

I dont guess I have noticed exactly what vehicle this is all going in??I read about the old vehicle. Its very important to consider the airspace of the vehicle as well, and sub location to get the best performance out of any subwoofer basicly..I mean,an 18 sounds BA, but it would really be a PITA to get it in a 2dr Civic
