Its a good looking box. keep in mind tho, that (like on the port) you only need to caulk one side of a joint.
whered you get the design from?

The design is a variation of what RE suggests for optimal performance. I used WinISD to design it and I decreased port width by half an inch I believe. THis is about the maximum amount of space I want to take up in the trunk.

So its installed and here are my impressions. It has a very weird response curve. The lows are super emphasized, but the higher end bass notes are really lacking. Like really lacking. I think the subs just really need to break in. We had to add some tweaks that I didn't care for on the amp in order to get it really going. Like bass boost. But when it gets low, it gets really low. There is just something that doesn't sit well with me. I am going to break the sub in and go from there.

Bud, you have a SUBwoofer. It's not supposed to hit the high notes, that's the job for your woofers/midwoofers.

I know that. I am talking about notes that my other subs hit with authority these barely make any noise. I would guess the mid 40's to 50 hz range or so the sub does nothing. Below that it smashes hard. The dropoff is so sudden. Also the amount of bass boost needed to get the sub really going concerns me.

Well I promised an install pic. Here it is. Again, it is nowhere near as loud as I expected. I am supposedly feeding it ~600 watts, but it sounds like it is begging for more. The sub barely moves. I want to fix the issue, but there are so many things it could be.

xover setting ion the amp is far to low.

set it @ 80 HZ

Well it is weak all around, it just seemed at first like only the higher frequencies were weak. There is a much bigger problem.

make sure the sub is wired in parralel.

do you have a DMM?

if it isnt wired right, youll only be seeing about 150 watts instead of 600

I am thinking it got wired funny. Since the car is brand new I wanted a shop to install it for liability purposes. I am going to take it back there to make sure it is wired right.

they may have wired it @ 8 ohms.
