Budget system

don't get the amp, I wouldn't reccomend Boss to my enimies. get this one: http://www.cardomain.com/item/ROC250MB Much better quality for only $15 more, Nice sub by the way. With that amp it'll bang hard.
You know the amp you recommended is way too small, in the best, most ideal situation it might sqeak out 275 watts RMS at 16volts, Just because it has RF on the heatsink does not automatically mean that it is a kick *** amp, in fact it is puny and useless and only comes with a 30day warranty.

Also, his $83 amp from before is a far cry from the $125+ amplifiers your recommending him, and you don't need more than 250wrms need to need that sub hit hard anyways.

thanks guys

stones those amps were a little out of my range

the first one is the only one i would consider

i just need to see how much i can take out of my bank account

The first one is a Power Acoustic LT980/2

It will give you all the power you will need and a little extra for only 119bucks.

The nice thing about an oversized amp is that you can keep the gain low for a lower power sub but if you ever upgrade to a more powerful sub you can just bump the gain up alittle to allow full RMS output.

Another bonus is that it will be alot easier to sell if you ever want an even larger amp, really small amps are difficult to sell because everybody wants somthing with lots of power.

If you go with a really small amp you might find yourself pushing the amp into clipping in order to get the desired performance from your sub. Clipping equals distortion, overheating and possible damage to the sub..

That amp would be perfect, Power Acoustik is a much better brand than that puny useless Rockford fosgate(jk lol Power Acoustik is a good brand, I've used a couple of their amps). HOWEVER, we need to keep in mind that the sub needs to be a single 4ohm, since the amp will be bridged. Hence, the sub you would be looking for would be the Pionner TS-W256C. I own the TS-W256dvc, nice sub, hits hard even when sealed.

Typically with single sub setups, if you are getting a 2 channel amp, you would want a single 4ohm sub and bridge the 2 channel amp(most 2channel amps are only 4ohm stable when bridged). If you get a mono amp, you would get a Dual voice coil sub placing a 2ohm load on the mono amp. (yes is the answer to ur question btw)
