Breaking in new subs?

Perhaps the reason you burned the coils is that 2.5" coil is only good for about 750W and you were giving them 1000?

Or we can fall back on "clipping" the eternal boogeyman to explain things folks don't understand.

Sometimes I swear the things you say on this forum.....
Why would any company honor a user error warranty? A lot of companies even state that, very clearly.
yeah what i'm saying is if every coil that messes up or spider that breaks is user error whats warranty for?

Could be but I doubt they were getting 1000 each since it's 2000@14.4v n my Max output on my alt is 13.6v plus it's a stock v6 alt that is 90a at cruzing n 60a at idle and that's being generous... I squared waved my signal to long, it's simple as that... They are 8layer coils so im sure they could easily handle a bit more power but I couldn't get enough power to push the wave sign to where it should have been causing my ac power to turn DC at the top of the square effectively turning my subs into $200 light bulbs...

Warrenty is for manufacturer defects that cause failure, like if the spider joint fails, or the surround or spider weren't properly glued causing damage stuff like that, but if its damage through user error like too much power or clipping or screw driver until the surround ur SOL **** outta luck

i understand if it has been in water or coil comes though the cone lol it ain't warrantied but subs that blew at my shop we sent back and got replacements..

just swapped out 12 ga on mine to 8 ga from amp to box checked my sub no scrubbing... ordering my box any min now, custom 2.135 cfad double baffle 30.375 sq in port 14.22 sq in port per cube.. i may add triangle bracing to front baffle so it'll put me 2.1 cf ad 14.46 sq in port per cube after that., hope it works out., sub sure needs more air and bigger port..

Quit dumping information about your setup in everyone's threads. Make a build log if you want to talk about your install. That way I hopefully don't have to see your self centered posts in every other thread.

No one gives a shit about your box.

Your burnt coils would suggest you gave those subs too much power, but suit yourself.

people throw 1500 watts with a clean unclipped signal on one of them just fine demoiing the whole day, this is pure clipping. Get off that stupid argument lmao. His electrical couldnt hang when he's not driving plain and simple and it lead to clipping. Even if he had 500 watts on them, it would die slower but it'll still generate a lot of heat compared to clean power. You are literally telling everyone to use a smaller amp in every fking thread rather than addressing the real issues which the OP already stated.
