Box Help PLEASE???

This is my first attempt at trying to design a box. My plan is to order a pair of DC Level 3 10's around the end of the month and I really want to get the most out of the airspace I have. I am still a bit confused about how to figure port area and what to tune it to and such. Anyway, this is the design I have come up with so far with the maximum dimensions I have to work with, the port is just there as a visual aid (I have no idea what size it needs to be). They will be downfiring, does anyone have any experience downfiring, or know if that 3" is enough space? I'm really open to suggestions and more than willing to do the leg work, I just need to be headed in the right direction.

3 inches is okay for downfiring. But considering you are porting this enclosure, I would mount the subs forward. I've never built a downfire with a port on a different plane. Not sure how good/loud it would be. Maybe some others have?

I would side fire in a pick-up. I've had very good result with that.

but seriously, follow bucks advice and side fire the port. single 4" aero will work nice
