if the box im building is only 16.5" tall and they are 15" subs how will that work? The cut out diameter is 13 13/16"

and im looking at http://www.reaudio.com/speaker_box/LPort_Box_Calc.html

put in:

Box Width: 35

Box Height: 16.5

Box top/bottom Depth: 18

Wood Thickness: 0.75

Square Port Width: 3

Square Port Length 2: 0

it comes to 4.285 cuft and 33.62Hz

will that work for 2 Alpine SWR-1542D (15" Type R)?

it gives me 31.25 inches for the front plate, and 2 15" comes to 30" will they be touching and 15" tall box with 15" subs?

is it just a too tight of a fit?

what can i do? my Max height is maybe 16.5", my Max width is 35" i can go deeper than 18" but, it might be hard putting it into my trunk.

if the subwoofer cutout diameter is 13 13/16"

then wouldnt the front board being 15" be fine? wont it just almost overlap...?

and what will happen considering the "Port Length 2" would be gone

thanks

Sandsnip3r, your box dims are too small...

because the 15" type R's have a total diameter of 15 25/32" X2 is 30 50/32 or or 31 9/16... over 31.25" that you have avail after port

Having the same issues with 2 12" type R's in a 1cF per sub sealed box with top and bottom plates taking up 1.5" and total sub dia. of 12.5 leaves me 1" around the sub at 16" total H dim...Tight fit but its gonna work...

Sorry and hope you figure it out, try angling your box...

there ya go with dims for box so someone other then myself who knows nothing can help you...

alpine type R 15" ported dims are 19.5X16.5X20 per sub with a vent length of 15X1.5"(or 22.5" sq) and length of 27"

like this... then you will have to figure out how to do your ports...maybe easiest for this box would be aero ports...??? Have no clue man....

this is just a suggestion and by no means am I any good at any of this, I am a complete noob myself...HTH
