Okay im leaving work, so on the way goin home im bumpin my system and my battery light comes on so im like wtf. I get home park my car and leave it running and get out my meter. I tested positive to ground and got 12.24 volts..voltage seems right so why is my light on? Could my battery be goin bye bye?

maybe your voltage dropped to low, and tripped your light on, and it stayed on. turn your car off and back on...and see if it is still on?
yea when i got home i did that..ima go try again. **** my T1 pwnt my battery already

My Dodge has a Volt gauge and this is how it works. When the engine is running the altenator keeps the battery at 13.7 volts. Whenever the voltage drops below 12.5 Volts the Voltage gauge drives to zero and the Check Guage light comes on.

In your case I would suspect your altenator is going bad. Unless your battery is shorting I would think a good altenator would hold the Voltage above 12.5 volts.

Good luck

I'd also say check the alternator as you should have more voltage at idle otherwise you'd be lucky to charge your battery while running accessories, etc... Belt could be old/slipping. Check voltage at the alt, not the batt.

Also make sure your battery cables aren't old/corroded...

nah i drained it a lil bit at work being a dumb *** playin my system for 10-15 min wit car off but i wasnt playin it loud so that might of done it
