Ok here is the story.

A big thanks goes out to my old buddy Kristoph. This guy and I go way back. We started hanging out at a local RC car track when that was pretty much all I could afford to race. Anyways long story short he has always been there in emergencies like when my Wife had to go to the hospital and I was out of state to my kids being born blah blah. Anyways we always joked around about if we ever came into a decent amount of money we would have to drop some cash on our friends and buy nice presents for them "you know the win the lottery ideas" Anyways I get this call last night and he is all happy his condo sold and I was happy for him hopeing he will get a new car or somthing sweet. He wants to come hang out and play some video games, so I said buzz over as my girl should be home about the same time and she can cook up some grub and hang with us.

Well anyways he shows up and gave me the "you know about that coming into a little cash thing we always joke about?" And I said yeah, and he says come get your presents! *LOL* I was like OH SHIT. Go outside and he has sitting in the seat a brand new xbox 360 elite with command and conquer, virtua fighter 4, wireless adaptor, extra controllers etc... I was totally floored as that is a pretty hefty chunch of change. He also purchased one with the same basic gear for another buddy in our little group that is always there for us. Man that just goes to show how **** cool good buddies can be in this shitty world. Came at a good time as I have been feeling pretty annoyed about people in general always wanting and taking but never giving back anything. Anyways just gotta say, you kick *** man, that was the coolest gift anyone has given me that was not related to me.

Nice...I don't have too many of those types of friends, only one sticks out for me. He's actually on this forum by the name of kool-aid. He built a fiberglassed enclosure at no charge, just me paying for materials. Sold me a reconed Brahma MKI with no play time for I forgot exactly how much but I wanna say 175 (its new considering it doesnt have any play time on it). I told him I would sell my Eclipse 8443 to him for the same price since we originally were gonna trade but he needed some money to send to a friend of his (it really was a friend, I spoke to the guy and sent money myself), yet he went let me charge him anything less than 200 for the unit. Then I have another friend who I took time out of my schedule to pick him up from UCLA which is about 45 mins-1 hr from me and then he gave me the wrong directions and then tried blaming it on me. I spent 3/4 of a tank on his *** and he says he would give me money to compensate for the gas I lost out on, which was cool until he waited till the end of the day after several other friend reminded him, at which point he only gave me 5 bucks. I've helped him several other times but have never gotten anything in return so I'm doin the same to him....but anyways, its great having people that care, return the favor, or do somethin nice just because. We need more of these types of people.

That is awesome. So what have you done for him in the years? Not saying you haven't, but you described stuff he's done for you, including this badass surprise.

My friends pooled some money together to give me about 100-150 toward my own 360. I got the rest of the money from family, but it was sweet to get that much from my friends.

Oh, wow, that silver disc tray does not look good with that black, but it may just be the picture.

Most recent cool thing I did for him in the last 6 month was his car needed rotors / pads and he was shy on cash at that time so I bought slotted rotors, cad plated and good street pads. My other bud chipped in and we installed them for him.
