Batteries?

I drive an 04 mazda 6, with a RE se15 paired with a JL 500/1. I also have a 2 farad cap (came with the amp). My cap is showing that it is only getting around 10.5 volts while running. Should I get a new battery for up front, or would i be better off with a deep cycle dry cell in the rear wired parallel to my existing battery? Im looking to get a steady at least 13 volts and make sure my lights dont dim. Thanks, Ryan

get a larger for under the hood and if you have the $ get a 2nd in the rear. you arent running that much power but it will help and you will have something you can expand on later

if you are only seeing 10.5 volts sounds like there may be other problems with the electrical tho

Do you have a DMM to double check the voltage at the battery terminals? If it's still 10.5v there you need to go get your alternator checked.

If it's cool up front and just not so great in the back you need to double check you wiring to make sure things are solid. Make sure your ground is composed of bare metal and that there's plenty of surface area between that and the terminal. If all of this is OK then do the Big 3 [check stickies] or at the very least upgrade your chassis-to-battery-negative cable to a thicker gauge wire.

I was thinkin about gettin a kinetic 1400 for under the hood...or should i go with like an 800 up front and an 800 or 600 in the rear? Or should i go with another brand...say optima? Also, what should the voltage at the terminals be?
