So Im thinking about picking up one of these subs for 40 bux, going to install it in my dads car. He just wants to have a little bit of bass to kind of complete his system. Its going in an older volkswagen golf.

I think I want to build a ported box to get the most out of the sub, but that spec sheet kind of confuses me. It has mini vented, maxi vented and ebs-vent. Im not sure what maxi and ebs means. It also says they should have 10% fill, would that be necessary. They mean polyfill?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Thanks. Do you think I would lose a lot of output with the mini vented box? Or should I just go with the maxi?

That would be a function of the harness, not the HU, I think. Have you looked into a Maestro or iData interface? i would check with crutchfield...

thanks DB, that definitely helps swallowing a $300 price tag 😂 these would essentially be running midbass for me too

What is your budget? With being exposed to Rain.. I would recommend looking at a marine grade SAS Bazooka for the sub stage

Don't forget Hoffman's Iron Law. You can have 2 of the 3: low end, efficiency/sensitivity or small enclosure size...
