What vehicle? And what year? For 3k RMS, 270a alternator(DC power or mechman), and 2 batteries(I got xs power d3400 and d3100) and having my amp wired down to 0.7ohm from a crescendo bc3500, my voltage starts from 14.7, and drops down to 14.1-14.3. Keep in mind I got a 270a alt and just a single run of 1/0 to the back batteey

Between your amp's max draw and your car you can see over 300a load on your battery at peak. That's not all the time, but that's the peak.

You will want a 270a alternator for sure considering that you will . If you don't want to go with an AGM battery you will need to double up on the flooded batteries, so it won't be that much savings overall going with the flooded.

Some people have good luck with the optimas and others dont...personally I know quite a handful of people who have gone through multiple yellow tops right after the other. If they aren't resting high 24/7 they will die very quickly. As well as the fact that you can get a better battery for the same price, especially if you buy a used battery from say RAM_Designs on here.

IMO the yellow top isn't worth it, mine didn't last the winter, still havn't had any problems with my agms.

Be careful of IDLE ratings, we don't rate idle because in various circumstances, vehicle conditions, system loads and along with other factors, the vehicle idle speed can vary. The difference of 50rpm can cause the alternator to fall below it's turn-on speed.
