Help with rattle I can't seem to get rid of

So I have an 01 buick regal which is body wise similar to a century. The years of that body style are 97-03. There is a light applique that spans the rear of the trunk and is made of plastic that only mounts by approximately 8 or 9 wing nuts. I have put sound deadener on the entire inside of the trunk lid. I also put it on the outside of the trunk at every point this applique mounts to the trunk and at every contact point I can find. It is still vibrating some in the center and is driving me nuts. I know it's hard to get rid of all rattling, but there's only 1 12 in the trunk so I was hoping I could get rid of it. Any help?

I haven't even heard of those. I attached a picture of the back of the car to help show what I'm talking about. It rattles in the center around the tag area. I should have put deadener on the whole center plastic piece I guess but didn't think it would have been necessary.

Stopping rattles isn't rocket science. Isolate it however you can, whether it be closed cell foam, felt, whatever. Isolate it, keep it from rattling.

It's isolated. Just nothing seems to be working so far.

Click the two pictures at the bottom of the page to hear the difference between metal without the CLD and with the CLD. You can hear a major difference with just 25% coverage.
Yea the difference is pretty amazing. I'm a little skeptical though.
For license plate rattles I used heavy duty 3M double sided tape on the edges and a couple strips in the middle to get rid of it. It sticks like a mofo and prevented rattling.
It isn't the tag vibrating. I've already had to deal with that.

cld isnt going to be the fix for this one.

just saying.

its likely something inside the piece that is rattling against itself, not it vibrating up against the car, it may be worth it to take the piece off and use foam tape on any contacting edges,

Assuming you have decoupled the license plate from the car, the rattle is either inside that light bar area or between the light bar and the car. If it's only held in by a few nuts, I'd take it off. There's very likely some foam gasketing the unit. It may have deteriorated or may not have been enough in the first place to deal with the extra vibration caused by your sub. You'll need to identify exactly what is rattling. Vibration damper would be an indirect fix, even if it worked.
