Anyone see a problem with me getting this computer?

Why are you against building? Even if you've never done it before, it's not that hard. And you could save some cash.
Some people don't have the knowledge, experience, or even desire to build their own computer. Plus Acer provides excellent customer support, something that may be more important to a computer novice than saving a few dollars or getting a machine with better parts.
Personally, I'd build my own, though. You can get a system that suits your needs perfectly while being able to pick higher-quality components.

Gateway DX4200 Phenom Quad core (2.2Ghz) - 6Gb RAM (2Gb x 2 + 1Gb x 2) - 640Gb HDD - ATI Radeon HD 3450 (256Mb)

Not necessarily up to compete with the other, but you save $500. Would work great, for audio/video editing, surfing web, gaming, any thing for everyday use.

Thats the thing....i have no clue what i need....hence why i just wanna buy something already built

Dude check this out, it will kill that Acer for WAY cheaper..
here
haha....i leaned in for that too

Another thing to note, usually these prebuilt pcs use proprietary MBs and cases. If you ever need to replace one, it can be tricky to find one that fits and mounts correctly. Not sure about Acer though.
It isn't 2002 anymore ... Even pre-manufactured computers use standard parts nowadays, at least on their full towers.

i like this acer gaming one, dont know if they are selling it yet though but the case is a bamf IMO
