I went to a presbyterian church today and have a few questions pm me if you are willing dont feel like everthing getting bashed on here
this is what my questions are about I have allways went to baptischurchs but I went here with my girlfriend and really liked the preaching but then some guy started talking in a tounge and it freaked me outThey believe that talking in toungues is God's way of speaking to them although the Bible clearly dictates that since his inspired word is now complete, it is an antiquated and often abused practice.
They also believe that one can backslide and lose there faith, which is complete BS.....

I'm non-denominational //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gifThe bible states that no man is to add to the inspired word of God. It freaks me out as well, and Presby. churches play on peoples emotions more than Baptists.
I disagree with the speaking in tongues and backsliding, and have researched it throughouly, you have to look for yourself to determine your opinion on it, nobody can tell you which religion or sect to follow.
fixed, most of the time its the same individuals in the church passing off there own opinions as God'sThe "translator" says they were told by God what the other person was saying.
I personally think tongue is a load of crap...but thats just me
I am as well, although as of late I have been questioning the origins of the Christian faith, as well as the legitimacy of a translated Bible.I'm non-denominational //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
some translations are sketchy and overdone (KJ, NIV). Some went from original text using relevance and application for a better translation (Living Bible, NLT).I am as well, although as of late I have been questioning the origins of the Christian faith, as well as the legitimacy of a translated Bible.
good point, i'm a NLT man myselfsome translations are sketchy and overdone (KJ, NIV). Some went from original text using relevance and application for a better translation (Living Bible, NLT).And every Christian should question the Christian faith. its the only way God can show Himself to you. Faith isn't supposed to be blind and dumb, it is supposed to fuse our powerful minds with His power
