Android or Apple?

I am no fan boy. I run linux on a lot of servers at work, windows on my work laptop and TV/Gaming PC and Mac OS on my laptop for home.
Same minus linux.

Still, after real world hardcore use I cant get used to anything but my iphone. Its too easy. I make ALOT of calls/texts/emails on the ago and the android just wasnt smooth enough for me. Plus with the pioneer iphone integration, it just couldnt work out. I wish my iphone had my galaxys screen.

What do you have for your desktop?

I just built a new one from an old q6600.

i5 2500k, 16gb corsair vengance, ASUS p67, EVGA GTX 560ti classified (448 cores). I spent less than 700$ on that setup and it screams. Granted I used my old case/psu/etc. Havent had a hiccup on any game yet (Skyrim, fallout, BF3, mass effect 3, assasins creed, saints row 3) all on ultra/max on a 40" LED samsung monitor at 1080p.. i love my setup.

Thinking about grabbing one of these though. I've NEVER owned a laptop. On sale at costco right now for 599.99$

Newegg.com - Acer Aspire S3-951-6646 Ultrabook Intel Core i5 2467M&#401.60GHz&#41 13.3&#34 4GB on-board memory Memory 320GB HDD 5400rpm Intel HD Graphics 3000
MIUI is pretty fcking awesome. It's android, but the UI is the best of iOS and HTC Sense and Android. Like I said, you cant judge them all by one phone.

I have two old 8600GTs in SLi with four 500GB HDDs, 2.4ghz Core 2 Quad OCd to 2.8ghz, some MSI board, Bluray Super Driver, Antec 900 Case, 4 gb Corsair 800. Its a few year old, but it still does alright. Want a new Video Card bad though. Only game that bogs is NFS The Run on High. I have it hooked to the TV so it does mostly Facebook and VLC player

Acer is garbage and their support is even worse. Any brand but them. We have 400 laptops from them at work and its awful.

ios is popular cause it is simple and easy to use. It is the smartphone for people afraid of computers.

Android is definitely superior. Apple= JL audio while android= sundown, DD etc

Idk who thinks thier iphone is just as fast, but my nexus blows everyone i know iphones away. And multitasking it gets even worse for ios, especially compared to android 4.0.

Compared loading websites and apps with the 4s vs my buddies nexus and my iphone beat his almost every time on wifi. SOMETIMES we were just about even.

and afraid of computers.. lol.. don't make me laugh

lol prolly cuz wifi was the limiting factor. I get 20-40mps down and 15-25 up consistantly, and i have run many tests against iphone 4s' and once in a while it will keep up on web pages, but thats about it.

And i wasnt saying every iphone user was afraid of puters, but the average person is, hense the simplistic nature of ios makes it so popular

The day flash player is supported by iOs is the day I will begin to even consider iOS in comparison to Android. Android isn't perfect but it has far fewer limitations than iOS. What I don't like about Android is there is no option to switch through different apps and they will still run in the background when you close them. I really think webOS is better than both, but its market is so much smaller and it never caught on to the masses. I'm considering reactivating my old webOS phone because I miss it so bad.

wifi is the best way to tell hardware performance.. it was on legit wifi.. why would a "superior" phone not be as fast on something like wifi
Actually it isnt hardware performance that makes the iphone load pages ever so slightly faster lol.

But lets not turn this into a pissing contest.

Fact is, it is just a phone, nothing to get all worked up about lol. Everyone has thier preferences, and either way there is no "winner" on which phone or OS is better. I sure do enjoy my 4.65 inch HD screen though.

This.

I used to work IT at a college. We got a contract with Acer back in 2007 to replace all our faculty office monitors, along with all of our classroom laptops. By 2008, we had RMA'd over 60% of the Acer equipment, and by 2009 we had to completely replace it all.

ASUS, on the other hand, I rather enjoy.

I think I will go to Android. You can easily customize it.
I always hear this in the iPhone vs. Droid argument. WTF are you "customizing?" Are you making pretty glitter screens or what?

The other thing I always hear is how fast the Droid is. What's faster? I don't get it. I've used an iPhone FOREVER and never find myself tapping my foot waiting on something to load. Pandora on my iPhone straight owns the Nexus'. So much so that I couldn't even use it. And that's one app that I use every single day. Laggy doesn't even begin to describe how bad it was. Same service, same areas and my iPhone kills it.

I downloaded that JuiceDefender thing for my Nexus to try to conserve batt life. Seems like all it did was turn off the stuff that I wanted running. I didn't use it any more than I use my iPhone and the battery life was straight up miserable. You can't tell me not to use it to conserve batt life. AND it took FOREVER to charge. Seriously, like 10 hours plugged into the wall to go from 30% to 77%? And then back to 30% on the 1 hour ride home. No thanks. The iPhone takes like 30 minutes to charge.

The buttons on the Nexus (and probably other Droids) are poorly placed. The wake/sleep button is exactly opposite the volume rocker. Every time I wake or sleep it, I was adjusting the volume. The ringer would be off or stupid loud. My headphones wouldn't be on or would blow my eardrums out. Lame. And why the hell would I need the volume control when I'm BT'ing to my HU? And the headphone jack is in the worst spot. On the bottom? Really?

WooHoo!! Ice Cream Sandwich!!11! Big f'n whoop. Put a **** clock you can read on the home screen.

Gorilla glass is pretty awesome though. And I did enjoy some of the text features on the Droid. Like, not having to scroll for punctuation and having word suggestions right there. But, there was no "return" button to seperate thoughts in a text. It had to be seperate texts or one long run-on. That's dumb.
