Amp for my jl 12w6v2?

So I just got a jl audio 12w6v2 sub for my truck and I am having trouble deciding on the right amp. I've been looking at 3 main options but I am open for any suggestions.

Option 1: PIONEER GM-D8400M

I would be buying the 500/1 used because its out of my price range so what do you think?

give us a budget... you can buy more power for cheaper.. Look at less Mainstream try Audiopipe amps, MB Quart, AQ 1200d isnt to expensive good amp to. Look in the classifieds here.

See I'm afraid to stray away from mainstream products because I know you get what you pay for in the long run usually. I'd say my price range is about 100-250

people on here have had amps from MB and AQ for years. Most of the time it's user error if an amp fails.. I.e. ABusing it sending it into protect multiple times etc..

We personally don't buy JL because they cost an arm and a leg. i have nothing against JL. It is a good brand but not worth the price imho..

Kicker is eh for me they run hot and i like 1 ohm stable amps..

I tend to stay away from anything pioneer unless its a Headunit..

Research some things. Audiopipe 1500d's will run you $150 and do rated.

Do you think 1500 rms is too much for just one 12w6?

yes just make sure you set your gains right. It is really good to have headroom when buying amps.. FOr instance buying a 1000 watt amp for a 600 watt sub. Its just good to have the extra power. Make sure you know how to set your gains.. The amp will only put out as much as you set it to.. For example i have 2200 watt amp and only use 1000 watts of it.

yes im guessing you don't have a lot of experience installing equipment. Not flaming you just wouldn't want you to spend money then blow it all on installation error. Take it a shop and tell them to set the amp settings.. Haha you would be correct that I don't have much experience..Do shops usually charge to do that?
