No offense as Nick is a great guy and all, but when you own a company and are trying to compare your product to another there will be some bias, lol. As for the BM vs. TW5, I am 100% confident that the BM will not only be better value driver but have better SQ and be louder. Hell, the old BM had better SQ than the W7 and was just as loud.

almost all their amps have always looked great.

I wish people would just stop saying SQ for anything outside of the competitions from which the term is derived. What the hell does it even mean, and how do you quantify it? How does one decide which has more of it? Are there shades of it and, if so, how much of a difference is there between these shades?

I have always taken the term "SQ" to be about being "accurate to the source"; in fact, this is the provided definition on IASCA's website. If that is what we mean when we say "SQ", then this is something objective...something measurable...and something your ears simply cannot be trusted for.

Now, if SQ is all about how you like it to sound (and I'm fine with that if it's what people prefer), then everything is as "SQ" as you want it to be, and nothing can truly have "better SQ" than anything else. thats the whole reason i sold all my DD and got the TW5s.

i wanted to be able to listen to music how its supposed to be while i had a little hearing left.

they are very clear and precise.

rather than listening to rap with constant low notes these keep up very well with country, rock, etc....

of course they can also get quite loud considering the low power they take.

The BM's are still undergoing testing at this point, and nothing more. I haven't said anything about the BM's release date. I can assure you it will be closer to the end of the year / fall at the earliest for the BM's.

I looked at the video of the Soundstream thin driver, and while I am sure it's a good driver, I just think it looks somewhat cheap and flimsy. At first I was not a fan of the basket of the new BM and how it was going to look, but seeing the pictures something just makes me think it is **** sexy. I think it is the red paint contrasted by the black mesh and the black back plate, also the laser etching is sweet. As for the JL TW5, that is a sexy beast through and through, it may be the coolest looking driver to hit the market, it is just awesome looking.
