alpine type x's not hitting like they should...

hmmm, wat kind of amp r people usually running, the guy i bot the subs off of was running to alpine amps, running 450w at each sub.

wat bout like a hifonics 2000w amp

yea. even if your amp is putting out only 1500-1800 rms it should hit pretty good. I had 2 type x and 2 pdx 1000.1 and it pounded!!. I had a bigger box though! even though the X are more SQL subs, they get loud and low! so there is deff a problem. what is your electrical system like?

wow so ok, ran jsut runs sub off the amp and it slapped like it should, wired up 2 2ohms and the amp supposedly puts out 1700 watts, so should i not even bother wiring them 2 gether and jus run 2 1000w rms amps

Maybe you had them wired out of phase then. I'd try wiring them both up to 1-ohm again and double check your wiring.

i got 2 12" alpine type x's wired 2 1ohm in a 3 cubic ft. ground shaker ported box. im running a power acoustik 4000w amp and my subs arent hitting hard at all. at 1` ohm the amp "supposedly" puts out 2200w rms. alpine states that for maximum results run the sub in a 1.4 cubic ft box. my friend had this same exact setup(used 2 b his old box) for his 2 12" type r's and it slapped hard, and was clean. i used a multimeter to confirm that the subs are wired 2 1ohm and we tried hookin it up 2 my friends 1200w rms hifonics amp and same results. any1 have any idea y the subs arent working?
Wire your subs at 4 ohm to reduce power off amp

OK so you say prefab box. So you are actually getting 3 ft minus the driver displacement and that also changes the tuning of the box too. I vote trying to make a dif box. Let these things breathe. If that still doesnt work then your amp isnt enough to power these.
