Alpine Type X?

I'm looking for a nice SQ sub around 1000wrms (could go up to 1500), 12" in a vented box the Type X caught my attention but i have no idea what it's like or if there are better subs about. I'm looking to spend around £300 at the max

The boston is too expensive but the FI looks something of a monster, 1500wrms and $280 and you can even get them with cooling? Why are they so cheap? Would they ship to england?

I just emailed them concerning the shipping. I would be running it with a JBL GTO-14001 it puts out 1500w@2Ohm but it isn't stable at 1Ohm. Which sub would i have to get, 1Ohm or 2Ohm and how would i have to wire it to get 1500w with my amp?

They are just companies that don't spend all their money on advertising, so they can keep their price down, and build for the consumer, not for their wallets. As for shipping to England... would have to email them, see if you guys can work something out.
More marketing can also mean more sales and lower per unit costs, resulting in lower retail prices. In any case, the online prices of both subs are about the same. SWX can be picked up for well under $300. Except for Alpine SPX PRO speakers, I wouldn't consider Alpine's products overpriced. And while I haven't heard it, I bet SWX has better SQ. Lower inductance = better integration with midbass and better transient response.
