Alpine type x

Beautiful SQ sub (sealed). Not very efficient = not particularly loud compared to some others, but these babies LIVE in the bottom realm of sub bass frequencies and accurately. You'll need some good power to wake them up. Absolutely bare minimum 600 W RMS actual power to the subwoofer. Recommended 1000 W RMS not clipping.

they're okey.... lacking in the midbass department.
that would be because they are SUBWOOFERS //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

if hes going for a SQ set up he should be running a nice 3 way front sdtage with a dedicated midbass and midrange and tweeters.

just my opinion

lol midbass from a sub. hopefully he meant 80-120 range

The sub will get loud its all the install but is in noway an spl or sql sub, just pure sound quality. Definitely get it but a great midbass setup is really needed.

guy offered me a trade. my 13w7 for 2 12" type x's new.
should i go for it?
Have you thought about your power needs? If you went with the Type X's, 2kW (plus your full range speakers' amp, efficiency loss at the amps, and vehicle's own electrical needs) is a LOT of juice, that most factory electrical systems can't feed.

Just something else to think about.
