yeah i was thinking about sticking with it, but i was wanting to get rid of it so i could buy some 12" mags.

and i got the power. (20.1). but shipping would kill me just to trade str8 up. tho i'd like to hear a type x. thanks guys.

"power" (watts) doesn't magically happen just because the amp's spec's say so. That "power" comes from somewhere.

Hint: it's what you're feeding the amp -- NOT just the amp itself.

i kno that, but i'm just saying i do have it on tap. and i can run ~1500rms with minimal dimming too.

i plan on doing the big 3 and if i can afford a battery. i'll hold off on the alty cuz that's a pita to replace on escorts.

heard one in person...wasn't impressed with its SQ at all...

On ebay the type x's sell new for about 240 +shipping.

So you saved 70 bucks, or more if that was the price shipped, or no shipping, and picked it up...then maybe like 100 bucks.

However I wouldn't trade the w7 for two of the type x's.

I liked my type-x... but it was a toss up between getting rid of the x or getting rid of my amp...cuz the x was D4, and my amp isnt stable past 4 ohms... and at 8 ohms she's puttin out like 500w. I have history with my amp, so the x went and the m-class's came back. The x was very good on sq, but im not sure wether it was the fact that it was new and not broken in yet, or the box, the sheer lack of power it was getting, or a combination of those... but it didnt hit the upper sub bass freqencies i needed and on some of my techno it just seemed to lag. Given it was a small box, 2.4cubes gross tuned to 36hz. Blech. No time to build a proper box ftl.
