i always hear people talk about their subs are low end monsters or they only shine in the upper frequencies. what frequencies are considered lowend and wheres the cutoff for the 'higher' frequencies?
i would say anything a regular speaker cant hit with authority would qualify as real lowend in my book. given there are some awesome component sets out there that surely prove me wrong =D
Most of the time when people think a sub hits low they are wrong anyway, unless they are playing tones. Radio doesn't reproduce tones below 35hz to put it into perspective, becuase of this even most rap songs don't go lower than that.
I consider anything below 35hz is low end of the bass spectrum with about 25hz being my favorite area. I also consider anything about 50hz to be higher end bass just like jman. Many people consider 40hz to be dropping low though...
