Alarm w/ remote start Recommendations

I went with the Compustar myself and am very pleased with it.

I just needed remote start but the alarm and keyless entry was a plus

I got mine installed at best buy (yeha yeah yeah)

the installer was good and got it done right the first time.

Talk to the installer first.

The alarm is only as good as the installer.

The range is good ,I dont understad te need for the 1+mile remote start.

I mainly remote start my car only once a day,in the morning and im at home.

My car is about 400' away and it works great.

Works in the office to and im in the middle of the builing,no windows.

For longer range I have found that sticking your hand in the air and pointing the remote towads the car helps alot

Basically the "walmart" generic brand of a Viper that you can get under $300 installed

Cost about ...500 total.

My car needed a bypass module for the doors to work and my car has a factory starter imobilizer.

400ish for the alarm +100 module + free labor if you buy it from Best Buy =$500

IM glad I went that way to.

If I would of bought it online the alarm is $200 and then you still have to get it installed so you can add another $200.

If you know someone and they are good and will do it cheap cool, if you buy it from BB they give your lifetime warranty on the work,any good shop will do this to

Usually its going to be about 150 for the unit itself,50 for a bypass,40 for doors,20 for trunk,and about 70 for the labor.So about 350-400 is a good figure.
