Im going to have an alarm installed on my girls car for her birthday and was hoping you guys could point me in the right direction. Here is what i need.

a) a good alarm

b) with a remote start

c) hopefully under $$400 - 500.00 installed.

the one im liking right now is the Viper 771XV although i have not priced them yet.

thanks guys!

anything Directed.. viper, avital, clifford, python, ect..or Omega MARS series

Directed is the manufacter of those systems.... except Omega.. the only thing i like about amega is smart start.. and it's programable 2nd acc. 2nd ign, or 2nd start wire..

directed is the company that makes all of those first ones listed: viper, clifford, python and so on.

I would suggest the clifford 50.5x or the equivalent with viper and python

With the Omega you can also press the valet button to turn on the remote start while the vehicle is running and then you can remove the key without it shutting off.I find this useful when I need to just run in somewhere and don't want toleave my keys in a running car.

yea.. the "pit stop" i like that but i used to just press my start button while the car was on.. and it would do the same..

^^^I find it comparable to most units that cost more. With some features that aren't avalible on other units. And I have dealt with viper, auto page, and cliffords. For the money you can't go wrong.

And with a professional install you can get a lifetime warrenty. At least around here.

ok so im gonna head to this store after work A1Doctor tint in carson ca, I don't want to sound like a noob so what should i ask for. and what should i expect to pay for it. they do good work.

what is a fair price for an install? like $200?

directed has that too you press the * twice and wait a second for the rs to take over and off you go. dei has programable 2nd ignition or 2nd accessory. get a dei that is what most shops carry and in my eye they are the best and easiest to use, and everyone knows how to use them.

i like my compu star. seems alot of the high end shops in my area carry them. only alarm ive owned so i dont know how they compare to others but i like it. my girlfriends viper seems to be a little too touchy. even with sensitivity turned down a strong wind or some heavy rain sets it off alot.
