Aeroport Questions

Hello all

I admit...Im a bit of a newb when it comes to building ported enclosures

I have a 4" flared aeroport and a 2.65 sealed enclosure (before port displacement) that I want to port

I have a couple of questions:

(BTW.....I used winisd online)

1- I was curious to know if a vent mach of .25 produces noticeable port noise?

and

2- Is it mandatory that I keep the port 4" away from the back wall?

You want to give as much space as possible between the inside end of the port and the wall, recommended space is 4" away for the 4" aero port, 6" away for a6" aero port etc.

Theoretically, a 0.25 should be noisy. Not at lower volumes, though. Although it really doesn't always work out that way. I was running a 4 inch port in a 1.75 cubic foot box with a 12" Pioneer 2000SPL. There was definitely noise at loud volumes, but you couldn't hear it at the headrest.

And yes, keep that port at least 4" away from the back wall.
