so, ive been getting comments from people i dont even know around school about "hey man, nice system" or else, ill hear ppl talking about "that derek kid with the nice memphis system" and its pretty well known so that alone makes me kinda paranoid. but, ive also been thinking about putting large 12 inch circular memphis logo decal on my back hatch window and my hood

do you think this is going to increase the chances of my shit gettin jacked?

memphis isnt really well known to ppl around here and most kids are jsut freakin out abotu thier "AWESOME SONY EXPLODS" or wishing they had w3's (hahaha)

ive already got a small memphis decal on it and im always wearing my memphis hat but idk if this is jsut going to be too much.

what do you guys think?

If people that you don't even know are telling you that you have a nice setup then I would suggest it's likely already known that you've invested a few dollars in aftermarket audio.

Do I think putting a decal on there to remove any possible doubt is a good idea? Not particularly...

Especially at a high school where the aggregate age of the people found there commonly excludes any kind of common sense or fears of getting caught trying to rip someone off.

the local memphis retailer's company truck has huge 5 foot vinyls covering the sides and as far as i know theyve never gotten their shit jacked

i personally think it's a bad idea. i myself wouldn't do it unless i was sponsored by an audioshop or some shit. i mean i've got a little kicker sticker, but it's barely noticable.

don't say i didn't 'told ya so' when you come back making a thread about 'my shit got jacked' you know

I have alpine stickers on my car, very small ones on the front fenders

My car is easily heard down the block, and I have the higher end alpines too...but so far no one has really even come near my car

but, i highly suggest putting an alarm in

im getting a viper alarm system for my car

my very first system was stolen from my car (before the stickers etc), since then I've done precautions to prevent this again

my 6x9s are glued in (which is ok because i don't feel like removing them anyway)

my 6.5s and 5.25s are screwed in with those star type of screws, i don't remember the name, so if they're carrying a phillips or flathead they'll have no luck

my trunk is inaccessible without a key, I removed the trunk latch so that it can't be opened from the inside, and took out the key port to open the back seats from the inside, so basically any work to get the subs and amps out will be impossible without at least a good hours work of hacking away at the insides first

If someone is going to steal my shit, i'll make it hard as hell for them to do it first, least that gives me some time if they're really really intent on getting my stuff

Look at it this way....only a small percentage of people will know what you're representing, and you're not getting paid to do it anyhow.

Therefore, the stickers will not impress anybody nor will anybody know what they mean, except theives.

I vote no.

Dont Bump Around School. I've learned not to, cause Numorus cars have been broken into around school, cause people "brag" About thier set up... And While everyone is in Class, people wonder the parking lots with slimjims and jack everyhting you have. Ussually tageting the trucks/cars/suv's with Decals saying. "Memphis" "kicker Livin Loud" "Alphasonic" etc.

Just be careful. Car audio is wonderfull when its in YOURE car. But once its gone... you will think twice.
