Well I got my ctx's hooked up to my sax 100.4 and 880 to go active. It sounds well, but I dont think it is hooked up right.

The fade is good, with the sound coming from the dash. I wan more midbass. But how do I switch to 3 way mode, and do more tunin with crossing frequencies and such.

Anyone with an 880 wanna give me some hints on where to start. btw the speakers are much louder now, than passive

well, you are not running active unless you have switched the STD(standard) tab on the side of the head unit to NK or whatever it is. This requires taking the cage off of the side of the unit and flipping it over.

Then if you dont plan on using the Head unit amplifier, you have to turn the head unit off by holding down the left knob, and then holding down the right knob to get into the setting the time settings and turning off the internal amp. if you are planning on using the internal amp, you should still get into that menu to change the time and shit.

I thought the internal amp no longer works when active is turned on?

The internal amp is only good for running other speakers off the hu correct? or will I lose other functions? I want the clock and all to still work...not sure what issues it cause:confused:

well when you flip the 880 into network mode(active), your internal amp is still on. yes it can still be used. HOWEVER the front and rear RCA outputs on the back of the head unit will not longer put out a full range signal(because its not in standard mode anymore) the front rcas will put out the high frequency's and the rear will put out the mid frequencys(to what you have the crossover points in the head unit set to.).

Most people turn off the internal amplifier because they dont want it/need it. Why have something on when your not going to use it.

HOWEVER if you want to have rear speakers in your setup, you can wire your tweeters and mids to the head units harness. This way when nobody is in the rear of your car you can turn off the internal amp, and when someone is in the car you can turn it on.

make sense?

turning off the internal amp will not change anything other than you wont be able to use the internal amplifier of the HU to power whatever you wanted to power. if you have an external amp your using, then it wont matter unless you want rear sound.

still go into the menu and check it out, you cant really F anything up.

yeah that helps me out. An yes I have my highs on the fronts and mids on the rear. thats all set. I may go active with 2 sax 100.4's later, but right now I have a pc4400.2 to run my other interiors if I can get them tuned right. But have that differant amp may make it difficult.

The comps get plenty loud it seems. I just may like to have some sound in the rear to tho.

How do I turn on/off the interior amp? Do I have to keep taking the deck out?

trust me, if your frontstage is setup properly, you wont be able to tell you dont have rear speakers. rear speakers is ONLY for enjoyment of the rear passengers if anything.

to get into the menu to turn off the internal amp, turn your car to ACC mode, hold the left knob until it beeps and demos. then hold the right knob and you will see it go into the menu. scroll and set the time and shit and then you will see internal amp on off, you have to push the knob in to change.

wait so are you running in STD or network mode right now? If you havnt messed with anything its in STD. your confusing me like shit.

ahhh, i c. The rears would only be for long trips and passangers.

as far as right now....I have not switched to active mode yet. But now I know how too.

Right now I have my highs on the front channels and mids on the rear channels. I set the eq to flat. Played with some crossing and fading towards the center and I am definanly impressed. Will this hurt my speakers right now, cuz they actually sound great. But tomorrow I will switch the active mode.

so right now I have the speakers hooked up with no crossovers.

Right now you do not have your "highs" on the front and "mids" on the rear. Right now you have a FULL RANGE signal being set to your tweeters and mids which is not a good thing dude, you might damage your speakers! Because right not you dont have crossovers to filter the unwanted frequencys to each driver. You need to change your 880 to active mode ASAP, OR put the **** crossovers back on your speakers before you F them up.
