A/V Setup Help?!?!?!?!?!?!

I am looking to set up a Pioneer a/v system in my Ford Explorer. I do not have a good shop around me to go to and ask questions so figured I would try here. I have already done the research for the equipment I want to get, but have a few questions. First, I will list the components I am looking at getting then ask the questions concerning issues I am weary of.

Pioneer AVH-P7490DVD This includes the AVX-P7300DVD (7" LCD

Control Unit, Display and DVD player) and the AVM-P9000R (5.1 A/V Receiver)

Pioneer XDV-P90 (6-Disc DVD changer)

Pioneer GEX-P7000TV (TV Tuner)

Pioneer DEQ-9200 (Digital Equalizer)

2x Pionner AVD-W8000 (8" LCD Dual Input Monitors)

Game Console (Not sure yet if going with PS2 or Gamecube)

Unsure if necessary: Pioneer CD-VS33 (Video Switching Unit)

Ok that is the list and it is all going to connect to Orion HCCA series Amps and Subs as well as the Xtreme Series component separates. It is all going into a 2002 Ford Explorer Limited.

My question is......Do I need the switching unit for the video source feed to the Monitors that will be installed in the headrests and what would be the best way to go about that? If I need the switching unit is it best to split the video signal from the DVD Changer and TV-Tuner to the switch or best to Run them straight to the switch and then the switch to the control unit? Maybe I am going to far into thought on this and should just ask what would be the best way to set this up so I can have control in the front of what I would like while my daughter and other passengers are able to view and hear what they would like on headphones if it is not what is up front?

I would like to thank anyone in advance that can help me with this slight dilemma. Your time and assistance is greatly appreciated.

I would say that you will need the switching unit to watch different stuff front and back. Run it straight to the switch and then the switch to the control unit. Are you doing all this yourself?

Yes I am doing all of the work myself. From the switch to the control unit will that take away any signal up front if it is in use or not in use on the rear? I have done a lot of installing in the past and have even run competitions and shows and done fairly well with my own installs. I have knowledge in electronics, but have just not done anything quite as detailed with such a large video set up as well. My last real install was in '97 and a/v was not quite my goal at the time. I already have the molds set up for my door panels and the rear compartment set up for the amps and sub encolsures and am simply waiting for the components to arive so I can begin, but wanted to ask for a helping hand or idea as I design the set-up of my source equipment.

I got this right off the Pioneer site, and here's the link to more info: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/Pioneer/CDA/CarProducts/CarAlbum/0,1427,40~4010~4010200,00.html

CD-VS33

Audio/Video Switcher

If audio-video chaos reigns in your vehicle- for example, passengers wanting to view different sources or have different volume levels- help is on the way. This AV switcher system gives you individual control of three AV outputs, so three different sources can be displayed separately. It also gives two passengers their own volume control for headphones.

From the sounds of it, this will do just what you want without having to split anything. It says you can view three seperate souces seperately. The only thing is where to mount the control unit.

I didn't mean to imply anything when I asked if you were doing the install yourself, I'm just curious. It sounds like you have things well in hand, and please post some pics when you get finished.

No offense taken! and for sure I will be posting pics as soon as I begin and finish the install I will very likely even go step by step throughout the process. Thanks again for the help and I will keep posted on how it is going.
