No you are more than welcome...

Just let me know so I can unplug it... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

That looks nice, and complex. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Hopefully someday I'll learn the finer points of stuff like this.

Don't you do electrical stuff for work too?

And by god I would kill to live near the partsexpress store. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif.

I do a lot of electronics work for work...

And yes it is kick ass to have the PE store near me...

Voltage & Size?

The biggest one I've ever seen was in a Bryston amplifier. That thing was MASSIVE.

Ahhh Clean thanks!

Anyway, I work today... All day... Then tomorrow work again, but tomorrow evening I am going to finish the second amplifier board, build the soft start circuit and build the DC Protects on the output, hopefully. Then I just need to finish mounting everything in the case, which has been mocked up at the moment. The trouble is I leave for a week to sit in a camper at a job and wait for problems. Which is going to be hard since I'm going to want to be working on my project. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Anyway, as always true any updates and I'll post pictures.

Picture time? First of all don't mind the nasty wiring. I've been reconfiguring and changing things around. And for the sake of time I am cutting the wire quickly and not organizing it.

I've got a few more things I want to try to make it sound even better. But, right now I've changed the bias current to 30 mA instead of the specified 15-20 mA and it has cleaned up a lot of the weird distortion I was hearing. It also had made the amp sound a bit warmer. Also, I changed out the input capacitors with a different type and a slightly higher value. Which has helped with a bit or noise I was getting on the left channel. Also, rewired the XLR connectors and changed the wiring on the filter capacitors.

I am planning on adding a few bypass caps to absorb some of the switching noise from the rectifier and I want to do a split powered system using two rectifiers. Still also need to finish the soft start circuit so my power center stops hating on me when I turn this amplifier on.

Anyway, pictures:

Ignore the ugly wires...

BTW, since my modifications to my power supply circuit the amplifier drove a 8 ohm load to 45.939 Volts with out clipping at 1kHz which is about 263.8 Watts... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/woot.gif.aaa6090e619a97b6090d16dd863c5a69.gif

I would have kept going by my pre-amp source ran out of steam and was maxed out. The cooling fins got a bit warm needless to say.

Tits.
I still want to hear my mains on an amp... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

nG
I either need to build some XLR to RCA adapters or put in RCA plugs.

Right now I only have XLR on there. But, yes in due time you will hear them on your mains.

BTW do you still have my drill and router?
