Hey all, i've been browsing the forums for a couple weeks, and i simply haven't found anything that really answered the questions I have.
I recently just got a '95 blazer from my brother, and everything in it is stock. I already bought and installed a HU (Pioneer P860), and am now in the market for some speakers. I was looking at a set of Alpine SPS-170A's for the front two doors. I have no idea what the difference is between Co-Axials and Components. I most likely am going to power the speakers through the deck, since I want to keep costs minimal.
1. What is the difference betwwen Co-Axial and Components?
2. What is the difference between installation ease of Co-Axial and Components?
3. What is a crossover? What does it do, is it necessary, etc?
4. Is there a possibility of the speakers not being compatable with the HU? (AlpinePioneer)
5. Should i buy a small amp to power the speakers to avoid running them with the HU? (If so, what amp?)
Any help with the above would make my day, and as mentioned, im not really on a budget. However I dont want to spend a fortune on a truck that will be scrapped in ~ 2 years (the thing has 220k miles on it). For reference, I have completely no experience with anything-audio. Thanks!
