Just trying to figure out my amps. I have JL's 300/4, 300/2 and 500/1. I'd kinda like to run a new Alpine PDX.5 because it takes up so much less space, but I don't really have the money right now. So, I'll probably run the 300/4 and 500/1.

Most of this stuff is left over from my 05 Colorado I had.

Here's the system Diagram of that setup:

But I sold the front stage, radio and EQ.

I now have a Premier DEH-P790BT for a head unit.

OK. I made a bunch of progress today, but I started thinking...

I was planning to paint it red to match the car, but since I actually use my trunk, and I don't want to repaint it everytime some little things hit it, I started thinking I might just vinyl it. So, I think I might use some red vinyl instead.

What do you guys think?

OK, here you go.

I think this should be strong enough, eh? I weight about 250.

Tomorrow, I will hit it up with some fiberglass reinforced filler, then some yellow lightweight filler...

Should be ready for vinyl by tomorrow night, or paint early next week if I decide to go that way.

2 Guys I know have sets locally. But thanks. How much do you think shipped to 48433? I ask, because my one buddy has 3 good and one slightly bent.

OK. Got it Bondo-Glas'd, De-lite'd, and Finishing Glaze'd and in Primer. But the batteries died as I took the last pic.

So, I'd say it's 90% done now. I need to paint it (tomorrow probably or Tuesday) and make a trim piece (you'll see...it's gonna be cool //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif )

I'll post pics after I get back from the store and clean up in the garage.

OK...more progress pics. First, I installed a nutsert kinda thing in to the car to mount the box with:

Then I glued a piece of 1/4" mdf to the back/top of the box to fill in a little gap at the top:

Then I taped off the edges and used some bondo-glass to blend the edges into the car:

After that, I coated the whole front with more Bondo Glass, sanded it with my DA, then I laid on some Dynatron De-Lite yellow body filler. Sanded by hand with 40grit. Then I did a layer of Finishing glaze. Sanded by hand with 80, 220, and 320. Finally, I got it in primer.

Also, The trunk hinge arm clears the box by less than 1/4" and I had to drill a new hole to mount the tension spring up higher so it didn't drag on the box, which worked out great!

I plan to make a trim panel, a little more body work and paint.
