So I bought a ranger the other day and i realized that the exhaust is a corroded. It leaks pretty bad, when i put my hand by it it feels like a blow dryer.

Heres what it looks like:

to the left is where the CAT and the tailpipe are and to the right is where the engine is.

I've never even touched an exhaust before but im guessing i only need to replace it from the left back (part with the CAT on it).

How much do to get that shiz done?

the front pipe should be one of these

and the extension pipe should be one of these

http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductList.aspx?parttype=690&ptset=A&searchfor=Extension+Pipe

If you go to advance, tell the guy you want to see his exhaust diagram book, look up your truck and write down the numbers next to the pipes you need and the gaskets...then the guy behind the counter can plug them into the computer and get them ordered:D

what if i were to cut that section out. like a foot of pipe including the coupling and found a pipe at advanced that would slip over the 2 halves and then just clamped it. would that work?
