96 honda accord over heating on idle

I have a 96 honda accord that starts over heating on idle. Usually when the car sits on idle while on neutral for over 5 minutes or on drive. But I noticed it over heats faster on neutral. But when I rev up the engine on neutral, it starts cooling back down. The fans do turn on, but only when the car starts to over heat. They also don't stay on for very long... Mostly about a couple of seconds. I also changed out the thermostat, and it's still doing the same thing. Anyone knows whats going on?

I had a car I had to fukin pull the whole dash out to replace it. $45 part and $550 in labor, guess what? This Mexican did that shit himself...

Whats the level of the coolant look like. Are you low? Whats the color of the coolant look like as well, is it dirty? When you di the T-state did you bleed out the cooling system of air pockets? Possible your cooling system is air bound causing it to over heat. When you say over heating is the temp gauge going up on the dash like into the red, or is the coolant over spilling out of the overfill bottle?.. Im sure that the fans come on at a certian temp and run until temp is down to a certain level. Do you have two fans or one. Is both fans working. When this is happening to is your AC on as well?

yes, keep an eye on the collant also. Id say it has to do with the fans though, u say they kick on for a bit and thats it?

Have you had the water pump checked? I dont know if I understand you correctly though, just what I take from your post.

how many miles on the current waterpump?if it does better when reved its probally low in coolant or it may need a waterpump.

bleed the coolant there is a bleed screw on t-stat housing pour coolant until it comes out bubble free and squeeze the hoses with the rad cap off and car on

and do this until there is no bubble and leave the cap off until the fans kick on

but remember to keep the radiator full while doing this

good advice.if the system had been drained or extra low recently it may have an air pocket.be careful with the plug bolt they are fragile,both the bolt and the housing...
