I'm wondering if I got another sq3500 if I can support it.

I got 180 A alt and 400 AH. My voltage is fine now but rise is killing me. I can't get loud without clipping.

I have 2 d4s so I can only wire to .5 or 2. I don't think I can keep up my voltage at .5 and I doubt running them both at 2 ohm will be any louder.

I have about 1000 watts for vocals also.

Iv contacted a few different HO alternator makers and I don't think an aftermarket alt is available for my vehicle.

Good deal on the 3500 and now it's discontinued I'd hate to pass it up.

Options? Opnions?

strap them at 1 ohm, theyll handle .5 each just fine but you'll need to get at least 1 ho alternator and caps or more alternators the better
DC, excessive amperage, and irragi (however you spell that) couldn't help me. If you can I'd be grateful. 08 mercedes gl450. Don't think I have any HO options

check out singer alternators and mechman (as much as i dont like mechmans customer service for screwing over a buddy)

Singer doesn't make Mercedes alts. If excessive can't help then your done. Get caps. Lots of them to
does that mean excessive is the most diverse as far as alternators go? sure is nice to have a gm engine... lol

OP your local alternator shop may be able to rewind your alternator for more output

Call Tom at Ohio Generators. No one could make a directly plug n play alt for my 1998 Toyota T100, but Ohio Gen was able to.

Also the clipping indicator on my SQ4500 is not very accurate compared to the DD-1. The clipping light on my knob was glowing red but the DD-1 said it was clean. So you may not actually be clipping. My system got significantly louder after figuring out my head unit could go up to max volume cleanly and setting the gains with the DD-1.

How did you tune your gains? Maybe you don't need another amp and just need a good tuning like I did?

okay thanks for the input all. I suppose I will just have to pass on the amp and work on my electrical first. At least i know who else to contact now. k
