well i called up the guys at Alpine and they said for a sealed enclosure .85 cubes internally is ideal for the new '05 version. Does this sound right?

at first i wanted a ported enclosure but ive decided to go sealed bc of space. All you guys on here that said a ported enclosure would be great, im sorry just dont have the room. Just for the record, the ALPINE guy told you internet guys to suk a dik.

Couldn't tell ya without knowing the specs, and I can't seem to find them.

WTF are you talking about??

i informed the ALPINE guy i talked to on the phone that ppl online were telling me that although you put type r in a ported enclosure it also have alot of SQ. He didnt actually say, "Well, they can suk a dik" but that is what he meant.

on Ikesound (where i bought the woofer) it says that the recommened sealed enclsoure is .7-1.00ft^3

The other day I heard two 12" Type R's in a ported box @ Best Buy... they sounded like major ***. I don't know if the idiots at BB totally messed up the enclosure or put it in one of the pre-fab ones that was completely wrong for them, but they sounded terrible.

all best buy sells is prefabs, if im not mistaken....those guys have no idea what they are doing anyway. They told me the Duals in a bandpass box would sound better than one of the RF's

If they are anything like the previous models, just build a 1.0 cu. ft. box before displacement, and that will give you about .865 cu. ft. inside, and it will sound nice too.

I have 2 05 type r's in just over 1 cube each, I think something like 1.1 after displacement and it really has tight, loud bass. I think later I will build a box around .9 after displacement because I am running like 800 watts each.

Jmac just lost it? and i dunt know why.

But the size of enclosure that jmac said would work very good for the Type R.

Also my type R is in a ported box... sounds beautiful, and gets loud, and the low lows make my car rock //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif
