Everyone says jl is overpriced and u can do better, just wondering what would be my best bet to get the best 8" sub other than the 8w7 at nearly $500
None of those are remotely similar. The 8w7 is in a league of it's own.SA8's, E8's, a pair of ID8's, Soundsplinter RL-i8, all much cheaper than JL.
If buy over priced then yes a league of its own. If your talking about SQ then the ID8's, SA8's, and the RLi8s are all in the same league for much cheaper.None of those are remotely similar. The 8w7 is in a league of it's own.
I'm guessing the sa8's should dominate a dubya 7 in output, jacob ids breaking 150 with a pair of them in his jeep and 1 beleive did a 154 with 4 of them out of his crx. DD1508's would be another option but for the price I would go with the sa8'sim not talking SQ because i highly doubt an ID8 will get even close to the output of a jl8w7. Though i know if i wanted the best SQ i would deff go ID no questions asked.
everyone says great things about SA8s but will they get close in output? i have no experience with SA at all.
how would the Soundsplinter RL-i8 compare as far as output? 18.3 xmax looks nice but its only asking 300w rms so will it get as loud?
How many said woofers have you actually used? Without lying.... I've used every single one except the SA8, but I have used the 1508 which is very similar and it's definitely not a SQ woofer. The 8w7 will play lower/louder than any woofer mentioned. Oh, have you seen the price of an RLi8, yeah it's pricey. If buy over priced then yes a league of its own. If your talking about SQ then the ID8's, SA8's, and the RLi8s are all in the same league for much cheaper.
And? Who cares! Everything is not about SPL. I bet the 8w7 will win an SPL contest at 20hz, which is much more impressive IMO.I highly doubt you could hit 150 with a pair of 8w7's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
