60 years in prison for his 10th conviction of driving while intoxicated !!

Rehab woulda made more sense, but hell, the more people they throw in prisons the bigger they get to make them, the more money they get for them, until eventually all of our kids are just sitting in them.
I am pretty sure at one time or another he has been there. Probably a lot of the reason why they threw the book at him this time. Sorry, but after 10 times, he should have learned his lesson. I think the legal system got this one right. One less meathead off the streets.

Do you honestly believe that in those 9 other chances he wasn't forced into such avenues mandated by the court system? These options didn't work obviously. Your outlook on this is absurd. I often get flamed here for being a bit understanding and too rational on these subjects, but you just made me look like the warden of a Nazi prison camp.

dude, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness! He got 60 years for having a few too many beers??? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

This dude should have been in the state system many years ago.

I think he deserves it.

Here is what will happen though...

He will get parole in 10 years.

Day he gets out he will go to bar and start to drink.

He will step out the door take 3 drunken steps into the street in his attempt to walk home and be struck by a jamaican cab driver who is stoned out of his mind.

Moral of the story...Live free, die stupid.

i just dont understand why if you are going to be an alcoholic why not get a bunch of booze and beer and stay at home and drink? why do they insist on going to a bar and drinking. most of the hardcore alcoholics sit at the end of the bar alone anyways.

im shocked hes been caught 10 times. a couple of my friends that insist on drinking and driving almost never get caught. it amazes me sometimes.

Whatever, you guys are flat out wrong. If he would have killed someone while driving drunk, then yes, give that much time. But for just being drunk, wtf. Some people can drive perfectly fine while drunk. You're just assuming he's going to hit someone while drunk and punishing him as if he already had.
I don't even drink, I can't stand alcohol, but as a libertarian, it's against my beliefs to punish someone for what you "think" is going to happen, rather than what factually happened.

The fact that you guys think he deserves a life sentence for driving while intoxicated scares me alot more than him actually being on the road intoxicated.
You deserve a life sentance because your retarded.

so tell me, do you think he continually breaks the law, or do you know he continually breaks the law.

i know that he does, he has a prior record, and he is showing no signs of ceasing to break the law, despite countless efforts to break him of his law shattering ways...

so since it is proven that nothing is going to transform him into a contributing member of society, and that he is in fact going to continue to be a drain on the legal system while endangering the public, why not go ahead and resolve the problem the only way we possibly can.

cheesemind, you are incredibly cheeseminded. and you are flat out wrong.
