5@34 type r plan..........

Those are the new ones...I ask because if you have the old ones and threw them in 2-2.5...they're going to sound like complete ***. Put those in 4.5-5ft^3 at 32-34hz and you'll be plenty satisfied...

yep. i had one in a little 300z doing an easy 145 more than likely, didnt get it mic'd but....it sounded like about that. they NEED 2.25-2.5. We had the wiper jumpin off the window in that car.

B.) I still have that video, lol

I have no expirience with these subs, but I just assumed that what the factory recommends is what you go by. I guess the factory must not know there own subs? I'm not trying to argue, I'm saying that the factory must be a bunch of complete dumbasses to not inform the public on what sounds best for their own subs! That's where this has me confused because when I was constructing a sealed box for my 10w3, everyone was saying "go with the factory, they know best." Whatever, you guys are the experts I suppose. Sorry for misinforming you, slickmrick.

factory specs are not always (usually never are) the best for the sub. They never give you the correct qtc or whatever it is for sealed thats supposed to be .707 for a completely flat response, and they never give you optimum specs on ported boxes.

Bigger is better for the type R trust me Bro. Im making a box this weekend or maybee next weekend for (2) 12" Type R's.

I allready built this box for a single type R 12....

It's about 2.75 cubes @ 33hz and it pounds big time. The 12" R has about 600watts rms going to it and with this box gives you great output and is loud enough to make my buddies windows on the front of his house vibrate very bad to the point that you could be 20 feet from the windows in his house and you can hear them shaking. Although Im very happy with the results I do see that the subwoofer cannot handle more then 600rms because the excursion os too high on it since its in such a big box. The bigger the box the more the sub will move and you may hear cone distortion if your not careful with the volume dial.

Below is the 4.5 cubes @ 30hz design with 60 sq.in. of port design for that Im going to be building for (2) 12" Type R's this weekend...
