First off, let me get this out of the way and say I know close to zero about car audio. I know what RMS and peak watts are, and that is about it. I've tried to search on this topic, but because I know so little, it is like a foreign language. So, I've decided to ask you all your suggestions as I figured this is your realm of expertise.
Alright so, I have a 1990 CRX, It has 4 total speakers (2 in the doors and 2 behind the seats). I have recently bought a somewhat rare factory option "Bass-tube" that inserts into the factory location in the rear. I believe they hold 5.25" speakers. Also, the bass-tube has a small port built in. My plan is to put in some 5.25 Micro-subs into these bass-tubes as I do not plan to run a dedicated rear Sub in the hatch. (My goal is to keep the interior looking somewhat factory)
So, does anyone have any suggestions for a well built 5.25" sub? I Understand it isn't going to shake the neighborhood and I am not trying to do that. But I would like to get a fuller sounding Bass or as much as I can given the size limitation. I listen to a large verity of music from rap, electronic, rock, and so on if that helps?
My budget is $200 for both rear speakers. Here is a picture of the rear bass-tubes if this helps anyone? (Also, I have not bought anything for the audio system yet except for the bass-tubes)
Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.
Pictures are not mine, and are for reference only.
