I currently had a pair of the Massive audio 6" Summos in a tline behind the seat of my '96 f150. As perfect as the design was(compliments to CSCStang), still stuck out just enough to make my seating uncomfortable. Are there any shallow mount subs that are worth trying?

try the jl audio tw3 shallow subs. they are great and play low bass. tons better than their ****** tw5 subs

If I had to get shallow subs, I'd either try the Alpine Type R shallows or DD's shallow

alpine type-r shallow subs are garbage compared to the jl audio products. i know how this forum is about jl but they are worth every penny. i just installed a pair of the 10" versions and am running 1k to them with 0 issues for the last few months.

A lot of people think the type R shallow is one of the best. In the sound quality crowd.

i guess its a matter of opinion then. i have had too many alpine subs have glue issues with the surrounds to suggest them. never had an issue with the jl subs i have used. i dont even like jl audio but i have used hundreds of them in installs with no issues at all.

I had the regular type R 10's and liked them a lot. No issues with the glue

I've had foam rot with JL. Never had problems with anything Alpine.

How about a pair of these with external ports? Pioneer TS-SW2502S4 Shallow-mount 10" 4-ohm subwoofer at Crutchfield.com

I would have no problem going with the Alpine since it is underhung. I'm sure the JL sounds great as well.

There's a friggin' sweet shallow mount 12" that reminds me of the nice shallow Stereo Integrity driver (mag?). Linked it below. You might try for either one of those but it might be a bit spendy for what has been mentioned.

They should invert the surround like Sundown dd with the SD line.

Maybe add Sundown SD3 to the list?

thought about the sundown to begin with but can only do about 6" MAX external dimentions

ok, seen the Lanzar Max Pro 64 subs. Only 3" mounting depth. Can do at least 4 of these. Been reading that they prefer sealed over ported. Anyone have any experience with these subs(any size) to know if they like sealed over ported. I also read they like a lot of space.
