4 Type-R or 1 W7

It's a 1990 Chevy full size truck, the on on my avatar. 1200 watts would work... but I would get a 1500 watt amp and keep the gains down so you could get a full 1200 watts without maxing out the amp. If you wanted to go ported I would do 5-6 cubes for all 4 subs, if not 3.6-4.0 cubes should worked sealed.

ne1 know how much air space the 4 type r 12" would take up in the box so i could figure out how big to build it if i am goin to go 4 cf for all of them sealed?

4 cf would be perfect for those 4 subs. Also have seperate chambers for each sub. 1 foot for each sub with 1200 to 1500 watts all together. Ur system will wang hard core and sound good doing it too.

alright well i had a few more questions? im building the box out of 3/4 in mdf wood. the meauremtents are goin to be 28x30x11 for a 4ft sealed enclosure. Is it really nessecary to divide the box into 4 chambers? What will be the pros and cons of this? And i really wanted to stay with the alpine m1001 amp, which only puts out 1000 watts at 2 ohms. Would i be ok with that, 250 goin to each sub, or should i shoot for a pg tantrum 1200, which i really do not want to becuase i want to stick with all alpine. Thanx in advance

Trying to keep one company is not really the smart way to go, even though with Alpine you probably could. Alpine has nice amps, just if you need a lot of power they are not the best to go with, I would get the PG... it's underrated and I believe it puts out 1400+WRMS which will do nicely for the Type R's.

It's not necessary to divide the box into four chambers...but why wouldnt u? It will be alot more sturdy and if one sub. were to die it wouldnt distort the rest. It wouldnt cost much more if any to divide them into seperate chambers. Also when it comes to your amps you should be a little more open with your choices....alpine make good amps but for the price of the alpine m1001 you could get two Hifonics 1500 watt amps which are amazing in my opinion. I had 6 12" type r's and had 3 hifonics 1500 (1 amp for every two subs) and it pounded! So im sure 4 type r's with 2 amps will pound too...not to mention good SQ. .....Not trying to change your mind, just throwing in some suggestions.

It's a good idea too.... sometimes they fight for airspace.
